What We Collect

Specifically, we collect:

  • Account info — your name and email address (provided via Clerk).
  • Learning progress — per simulator: which phases you've completed, which troubleshooting scenarios you've finished, your final test scores, and the time you've spent.
  • Circuit state — the wires you've placed in each simulator, so the workbench shows your in-progress wiring when you return.
  • Mentor activity — we keep a monthly counter of how many mentor messages you've sent so we can enforce the per-tier limits (5 lifetime for free accounts, 300/month for Pro). We also log each individual mentor question (with the simulator name and timestamp, no message text) so we can see which simulators get the most mentor traffic. The text of your message and the current circuit state are sent to Anthropic at the moment of the request to generate the response, subject to Anthropic's API data retention policy.
  • Subscription status — whether you're on the free tier or Pro, and your current period dates. Stripe handles all payment processing; we never see or store your payment card details.
  • Email delivery records — we record when we've sent you a lifecycle email (a welcome message at sign-up; if you subscribe to Pro, also a Pro welcome and a short follow-up if you haven't returned after purchase) so we don't send duplicates.
  • Download requests — when you download a PDF resource, we store the email address you provide to deliver the download link and to understand which resources are most useful. We may send a small number of follow-up emails related to the resource you downloaded (for example, a tip on how to use it, or a pointer to a related simulator). You can unsubscribe from these at any time. We do not add you to a general marketing list.
  • Bug reports and contact form submissions — whatever you choose to send us through the in-product "Get in Touch" form or the B2B contact form. Bug reports are filed as private GitHub issues we can review and respond to.
  • Anonymous usage data — aggregate page-view counts (Vercel Analytics), conversion funnel events (e.g. "this signup came from this article"), session recordings of mouse/click/scroll behavior (Microsoft Clarity — form input is not recorded), and crash reports when the site has an error (Sentry). None of these include your name, email, or message contents.

How We Use It

We use the items above to: authenticate your account, sync your simulator progress across devices, generate AI mentor responses about your circuit, manage your subscription, send you a welcome email when you sign up, plus a small number of subscription-related emails (Pro welcome and one follow-up) if you upgrade, respond to support and bug reports, and figure out which parts of the site work for new visitors. We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or send marketing emails. We do not use Sentry crash reports or Clarity recordings for advertising or for any purpose besides making the product work.

Third-Party Services

  • Clerk — authentication and account identity
  • Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing
  • Supabase — database (your progress, mentor message log, subscription status, email delivery records)
  • Vercel — hosting, anonymous page-view analytics, and conversion-funnel event tracking
  • Anthropic — AI mentor responses (your message and current circuit state are sent for context; Anthropic does not retain them)
  • Resend — delivery of account and subscription lifecycle emails (a sign-up welcome; Pro welcome and one follow-up if you upgrade) and resource download emails (the PDF download link and a small number of follow-up tips); records of which emails we've sent so we don't send duplicates
  • Microsoft Clarity — session recordings (mouse, clicks, scrolls; form input is masked) for understanding how visitors use the site
  • Sentry — error tracking when the site crashes or hits an unexpected condition; helps us fix bugs faster
  • GitHub — bug reports and contact form submissions are filed as private issues for follow-up

Your Rights

You can request a copy of any of your information or ask us to delete your account and everything associated with it at any time. Contact us at electrimancy@electrimancy.com.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies for the Clerk authentication session and browser local storage to remember your simulator progress so you can keep working in the same tab without losing state. Local storage is shared between the workbench iframe and the parent page on the same browser; nothing in local storage is sent off your device beyond what's already covered above (progress is synced to Supabase when you're signed in).

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update this page and the date above.
